Burglaries and Thefts

Automotive vandalism

We have recently been incurring thefts of catalytic converters. These items are made of platinum and are either being resold or sold for the metal. They are being taken during night-time hours while parked in the driveways. After starting your vehicle you will notice that it sounds much louder than usual.

Also we have had three burglaries over the past three months. Two were forced entry with electronics being the items preferred while the last burglary was made through an unlocked window. Surrounding contracts are having the same types of burglaries and so far no suspect information has been obtained. Please be aware of your surroundings and look out for your neighbor.

The deputies patrolling the area will not typically know what vehicle should be in your driveway or your neighbors. Please call the Constable's office direct 281-376-3472 with any suspicious activity. Helpful information that you can provide is as follows: Description of vehicle or persons. Colors of the vehicle, license plates, and clothing. Last known location of the persons or vehicles and direction of travel.

Just last week a resident within Country Lakes observed a male checking door handles of cars during the night and called it in. The deputy arrived within a few minutes and arrested two for public intoxication while the third male ran from the deputy. The fleeing suspect was unable to be apprehended but the two arrested advised the deputy they were with that male waiting for him while he tried to burglarize unlocked vehicles. The two arrested were sitting in a vehicle down the street waiting for the male to return. At this time that case is still open pending further investigative leads. One car was burglarized that night but many others were probably prevented due to the citizen calling the activity in.

If you see anything that doesn't feel right or look right....IT'S NOT...call it in.....it could lead to arrests and closure of many open cases being worked on..
